New Summer Mini

Today marks the start of the new Summer Mini catalogue from Stampin’ Up!

The members of ESAD-SU, which is a forum for Australian and New Zealand Stampin’ Up! demonstrators, celebrated the start by having a fantastic Blog Hop featuring items made using the new contents of this mini catalogue.

You can check it out by going to http://www.stamp-a-latte.com/ and following the links to the next 30 blogs.

I also want you to know that if you do make it around to all 30 Blogs involved in today’s Blog Hop and if you make a comment on each one you are then in the running for some Extra Special Blog Candy.  The demonstrators from all over have donated blog candy for this blog hop and if you are the lucky winner you’ll be getting all sorts of parcels and you will truly think that Christmas has come early this year and that you’ve been a very good girl (or guy)!  Now if you do get to all and comment on all the blogs shoot Leonie an email with your name and email address and then everyone who has also visited and commented on all 30 blogs will go in the draw for the ‘extra special’ blog candy.

lindt bunny2 (Small)I didn’t enter a page for the blog hop, but I would like to show you a card I made using a new stamp set called Chocolate Bunny. I have dressed him in his finest gold to turn him into  a pretend “Lindt Bunny”. Isn’t he cute?  The designer paper is from the Tea Party pack, with So Saffron touches.

Check out all the blogs in the blog hop for some amazing card, scrapbook and off the page ideas!

Stamper’s Lament

I started out with just one stamp, and when I bought some more

I decided that a shoe box would make an ideal place to store.

Then as I added inks and pens my stamp collection grew

So I bought a roomy plastic crate, it would last for years, I knew.

Embossing then became my thing with powders and a heat gun,

Metallics, tinsels, pearls and clear, I soon had every one.

By now my lovely plastic crate was spilling everywhere

And my glitter glue collection lay scattered on a chair.

My family started muttering and said things had to stop

So I bought a huge old wardrobe at the local charity shop.

But after a while I couldn’t shut the door

And I put shelves in the spare room to accommodate even more!

Our house is now for sale, something larger being sought,

By the way, did I show you – The latest stamp I bought………………?

(I discovered this verse a long time ago on the net, thanks to the author whoever they may be!)

So busy!

At the end of October Stampin' Up! are holding their Regional Training in Adelaide, which expects to see between 75 - 100 demonstrators attending. A big part of this event is to swap cards amongst ourselves, so that we all go home with lots of different ideas to use in our cardmaking.
I have been busy making loads of cards, I made 50 at first then discovered it may not be enough, so made another 40 in the same design but using different cardstock as I had run out of the first colour! lol
I won't show you the whole card, just a tease for now. Gotta keep some surprises for the day.
You can see how they have been done.
Thanks for dropping in.

I'm Back!

Sorry for any inconvenience - I deleted my blog for a couple of weeks to give a lot of thought to the direction I was heading in. From now on all cards and projects I post will be strictly Stampin' Up! only.
The reason for my blog was to participate in challenges on other sites, which I haven't done for quite a while, so it will now just be my showcase for any SU! work I do.
Hope this does not deter you all from coming to have a look now and then.
Cheers to all my concerned followers who sent me emails of support during this time.

Team Challenge

The team challenge on the Southern Bells SU! forum this week is to make a quick card which can be completed in less than five minutes.
This is my quick card.
I simply rolled the new Holly wheel, stamped the tree from Lovely as a Tree, and then stamped and colored the cute giraffe from the Animal Crackers set. A little Superfine glitter here and there and finished.

First WeStamp project

A friend recommended the WeStamp (New Zealand) website - I just joined up in time for this round of projects, there will be a new lot coming up in September. This is their last project they posted, a double pocket bag and card set.
The cardstock is from the DCWV "All Dressed Up" stack, they have such gorgeous packs!
I then stamped using All Oval and punched out with large oval and scallop oval from Stampin' Up!, and the swirl and flower stamp is from the Friendship Blooms hostess set. I hand made the ivory vellum envelopes to match. Black ribbon from my stash, and this is the result. I made another set earlier but my daughter fell in love with it and grabbed it before I had a chance to photograph it! I really like the colors on this one.
Hope your weekend is a great one.

First Mini cards

Two new cards using a gorgeous stamp set and punch from the new Mini Catalogue. The stamp set is Oval All, and the Scallop Oval punch is designed to perfectly match the size. The flower stamps are Pocket Silhouettes from the Main 2009/2010 Idea Book and Catalogue, stamped in the NEW Stazon Opaque white ink also from the Mini.

Flower Power

An unusual title, but worthy I think!
This card also qualifies for the Challenge on my Southern Belles group site, it is also using the Designer Series Papers.
This sheet of pretty grey paper is from the Hostess Gift set for Level 1, Patterns Pack II. The pack contains papers in shades to correspond with Regal Rose, Apricot Appeal, Brocade Blue, Basic Grey and Garden Green cardstock. At 6" x 6" they are the perfect size for cardmaking.
I used the Trio Flower Punch on the Basic Grey, so that the patterned paper underneath showed through. The grey was then trimmed using the Scallop Border punch. The large flower itself was made using a technique I found on Splitcoast Stampers, using the Scallop Border punch. 1/4" Grograin Whisper White ribbon and bow completes the details.
Another very different card!

Challenge card

It has been a while since I have had time to make a challenge card, this one is for the Southern Belles Stampin' Up! yahoo group. Our brief was to make a card using Designer Series Papers.
I have used Bella Rose for the background on the card, and then punched out 3 scallop circles from the same paper and made into a paper rose to match. I added a bow made from 1/4 inch Pretty in Pink grosgrain ribbon, and Dazzling Diamonds to bling up the rose! LOL
Thanks for looking.

Another candy card

Here is another card I made using some of the blog candy I won, this time it is embellishments from the Pretties kit.
The card is made using Whisper White cardstock, then some retired DSP my upline gave me, and the embellishments. I like it for its simplicity.

New storage

I have searched for quite a while to find a cheaper alternative for storing my stamp pads to no avail. My older son, Peter, yesterday helped me with making and assembling my own stamp cabinet. This idea is a combination of a few storage cabinets I have seen online. What it has done is prove to me that there are a lot of inks from some of the color families that I have not purchased yet! LOL I do have them in marker packs though.
I think the storage for the ink refills at the top is a great idea as it keeps everything in reach.
Oh, the blue trim is because I ran out of white paint......
